Unit 8 is all about exponents and exponential functions.
Exponents are all about rules. In Algebra we call these Laws of Exponents.
In 8.1 we explore what exponents are, and some terminology. We also look at the first Law of Exponents and that is: The Product of Powers Property.
We see that (x^m)(x^n)= x^m+n
Because these rules are fairly simple, I combined two sections into one.
8.2 is about the Power of a Power Property and the Power of a Product Property. If you can't remember what that is you can look at my notes on both section 8.1 and 8.2 here.
We practiced using these properties in a worksheet. Here is the worksheet and the answer key. If you need more practice or would like to confirm your answer you can check on the answer key.
In Section 8.3, we looked at the Quotient of Powers Property and the Power of a Fraction Property. Both of these Laws were explored in your classwork that day. Also I combined section 8.3 and 8.4 together because of their expediency.
Here are my notes to refresh your memory.
In 8.6 we examined exponential equations and their graphs. We discussed bases, y-intercepts, growth vs. decay, and using Geogebra to find the exponential equation of a list of points. We then use the graph or the equation to answer questions. The notes for this section can be found here.

8.5 is about scientific notation and how to write numbers and perform operations on numbers in scientific notation.
If you want some extra practice with scientific notation, you can check out these worksheets.
